Claremore 2040 Comprehensive Plan and Special Districts Plan
The Claremore 2040 Comprehensive Plan resulted from a 14-month planning and citizen involvement process beginning in January 2018 with final adoption in March 2019. The plan’s findings and recommendations focus on the physical and economic aspects of the community’s projected growth and development in the coming years. It provides guiding principles, goals and strategic action priorities that will help City officials and staff in determining the location, financing and sequencing of public improvements; administering development regulations; and guiding reinvestment efforts. The plan also provides a basis for coordinating the actions of many different functions and interests within and outside of municipal government.
The Claremore Special Districts Plan has been developed in tandem with the Claremore 2040 Comprehensive Plan to focus on four distinct geographies: West Bend | University District, Will Rogers Corridor District, Downtown District, and Historic Route 66 District. The Special Districts Plan include a fine-grained assessment of existing conditions and future needs and opportunities in each area with customized action strategies that include more design detail and in-depth consideration of implementation specifics.
A public hearing on the new Claremore Special Districts Plan will be at the Planning Commission meeting on May 28, 2019 at 4pm in the City Hall Council Chambers.
City Council consideration of the Special Districts Plan is planned for June 3, 2019 at 6pm in the City Hall Council Chambers.
